Another post on my KHR delusions.
I mentioned last post that "Mukuro probably doesn't care about himself too much" re: 186996 intrigue, and that's based on my delusions that Mukuro has lived so long in his many reincarnations, he doesn't care about the sort of thing normal people care about. Of course I'm a mere mortal, and not one that's lived for very long at that, so I can only speculate :)
In my setting the 1869 is one-sided in mind. Hibari started off with feelings of vengence and intrigue for Mukuro, and that became an unhealthy obsession and somewhat twisted love that he doesn't know what to do about in the next 10 years (because he is Hibari and he doesn't form relationships that have no clear master/subordinate roles). Mukuro just finds Hibari interesting, so he keeps pushing his limits. At the end, Mukuro will do whatever Hibari wants (although the process won't be straightforward... both of them being the type to not speak their minds...), but he won't love him, because he can't feel that anymore. Probably lost it the 2nd or 3rd time living. Chrome says that Mukuro really cares about Hibari, and I think it's probably the same kind of caring for fleeting things, like sakura or snowflakes or whatever :dies of cheesiness:
Another result of living so much is that he's trimmed down morals/standards to just a few principles, the centre of which is "do what you want to/is useful to you". His goal is probably to keep living the human experience, and that's why he wanted world war, etc..
There is too much potential for Mukuro's backstory :)
In the TYL!World Mukuro runs the "dark" side of the Vongola business, like dealing drugs, running prostitution rings, laundering money, etc.. Reborn implies that they don't do that, but there is just no way :) He does that by possessing multiple people, which is fine when he's in prison since he doesn't have to care about his corporeal body at all, and probably fine when not a lot of the possessed requires lots of attention, but I'm guessing he'll just ignore his body (since it is/will be in good care of the Hibari household XD in V1.6km's setting anyway!) and pass out if suddenly everything requires attention.
OK, that's all for now.
I was going to put in some 1896 undertones in V1.6km, but other than it coming out of nowhere (maybe not really, since Hibari mentions Chrome in the beginning), I can't make it consistent with other assumptions without being terribly unfair to cute little Chrome.
On Hibari's side I don't think it's possible for him to see Chrome without also seeing Mukuro. If he doesn't know of Chrome and Mukuro's relationship, he's not going to be interested in her either (for she's just a normal school girl). Basically, no way Hibari will be genuinely interested Chrome (not that this is generally a problem in the awful world of fandom, but... see below)
On Chrome's side, she's totally devoted to Mukuro, and since she clearly knows Mukuro's feelings for Hibari (ah... that's a whole other thing), it would be pretty weird for her to fall for Hibari... Unless it's because she shares Mukuro's opinions also... In which case she's a second-class citizen to the 6918/1896.
As much as I like the idea of 1896 while Mukuro is locked away in prison... I can't have Chrome be just a proxy to the object of Hibari's obsessions :(
Assuming Hibari wants Chrome as a girly Mukuro though, I don't think he'll ever be able to finish the business. Mukuro is too protective of her XD Even if he takes her body over he'll probably not let Hibari defile it (not because he insists on some morals... he can't care less about them... but to be protective of Chrome) :dies:
But if Chrome independently developed affection for Hibari, and Mukuro will know this... Mukuro probably doesn't care about himself too much, but he'll care that Hibari will never return his cute little Chrome's feelings. 3-way 186996 intrigue!?!?!? XD :dies:
Chrome/Ken and Chrome/Chikusa also don't really work for me for similar reasons. I can see 6996 (kinda incestuous... but that's OK :)) but it intrigues me much less than 1896 for some reason.
Ahh! Why am I spending time thinking about this?!
